“Spiderman is an adorable 12h 1/2″ grey gelding.  He is a bright, alert, “best-friend” sort of pony.  Spiderman is now in regular work under saddle, indoors and out.  He is currently at Carol Bailey’s farm in Virginia packing many children around over crossrail courses.  He is a nice mover on the flat, and exceptional over fences!  He free jumps easily to 2′6″, and has plenty of stride to get down the lines.  Spiderman has excellent Welsh bloodlines, his sire, Glencoe Nimbus is a proven producer of typey hunter ponies.

Spiderman is really ready to go now.  He is child-safe, has local show experience, is packing kids around small courses.  Carol tells me he never even looks at the jumps anymore.  This little guy needs a home with a child to love, preferably someone who will continue his hunter training.  He could/should be a serious competitor.

Spiderman is now enjoying his stay with Carol Bailey of Everwood Stables in Gore, Virginia.  Carol and her many children (all expert pony riders) will be schooling Spiderman and showing him locally for the summer.  He has reached the stage in his career that he is ready for child riders, and ready for show ring exposure.  He will be seen on the circuit at Sandstone Farm for the “Short Circuit” and VHSA horse show season in Millwood, Virginia.

I rode Spiderman over a couple of crossrails in the indoor arena today.  What a star!  He is so willing!

6/6/09 Spiderman was ridden in his first show by 14 year old Emma Petts. He pinned fourth in Very Green Hunter Walk Trot at the Canterbury/Circle City show. Qualen’ Gangrels is very proud of pony and rider!! We’ve got our sights on Sporthorse Inc Schooling show this weekend.

6/15/09 Sport Horse Inc Summer Schooling Show (6/13 – 6/14) Spiderman, ridden by Emma Petts placed first in all three Pony US classes — Children’s Pony Hunter US, Pony Hunter US, and Pleasure Pony. This was his first time showing at walk, trot, and canter! It’s so much fun to see him begin to understand and enjoy his job.
