Muffit

Orchard Hills Miss Muffit (Muffit)

JLA Gleeful Lad x Glencoe Moonlight (x Ardmore Footlight)

Welsh Mare ~ Foaled 8/16/1993 || WPCSA # A-36800

This mare has exceptional Welsh breeding and is the epitome of the “typey” Sec A pony with large kind eye, tiny ears, and a long elegant neck. Her gaits also show the grace and elegance of the Welsh hunter pony. Muffit has produced two wonderful foals for Qualen’s Gangrels farm so far (Picturesque Wiseman and Casual But Chic).  Alas, Muffy’s genital melanomas have made further breeding impossible.  She will live out her days enjoying the pastures, and being the surrogate “Grand Ma”  at Qualen’s Gangrels farm.

Sunflower

2001 Palomino Pony Mare (large)

Sunflower is a grade large pony (14h 1″)with a gorgeous flat-kneed trot. She was added to our herd to produce size and color. She is a deep caramel Palomino. Sunflower produces foals with wonderful temperaments and fancy movement.  Her first foal for us was Hoosier Daddy.   This year’s filly, Tupelo Honey is just as nice as her half brother, and is palomino to boot!  Sunflower has been exposed to Flying Diamond the Bailef (owned by Janice Early in Texas) for a 2010 foal.

Rex

New Rex Commences (Rex)

Farnley Stretton x Pinehurst Rose Beauty (x Gayfields Comin’ Up Roses)

2001 Welsh Sec B Mare || WPCSA # B-41561

Very lovely eye-catching chestnut mare with silver mane and tail. Top Welsh bloodlines, with the brain, beauty, and movement you would expect from her pedigree!  Always in the top ribbons at the few shows she has been to, Rex participated in the Hoosier Horse Fair Breed Demo in 2009 after only 20 days under saddle.  Rex’s only foal so far is our brilliant “Commence the Magic” (Manny).  We look forward to breeding her again in 2010.

Four Season’s Crystal Dew (Crystal)

Kemur’s Miason x Ettrick Honor (x Twyford Moonshine)

Sec A Welsh Mare ~ Foaled 5/14/1985 || WPCSA # A-42293

This grand brood mare has very correct conformation and exhibits excellent ground covering movement and soundness. Bright and forward, she is a delight to watch out in the pasture, and a joy to handle. Crystal is a proven producer of high quality foals. She has given us two fine babies:  Kingfisher’s Step’N Time (owned by Heidemarie Gentryswift in Georgia) and Qualen’s Principessa.   At 24, Crystal’s broodmare days have come to an end, and she will be retired.  Now all she has to do is eat and play, roll in the mud, and let us love her.
